Desert Night

Desert Nights

I was wondering how a night in the desert in the middle of a mystic sand storm would be, then what if a wonderful mythical creature would show up, but what is she doing? looking for water? dancing? making a sacrifice or a plea to Selene?… go figure…! I know kentaurides make just part of greek mythology (or do they?) but who said there’s no deserts in Greece?! if there was an underworld for Hades and a mighty mountain for Zeus, then there must have surely been deserts for horse-women-witch… Anyway, I personally  believe this is my best illustration so far, I pushed myself a bit further trying to make textures alive, keeping it realistic yet fantastic and a bit surreal…  I’m quite excited about the outcome, and though I’m sure it’s far from flawless, I think it’s pretty nice.

And for those of you who liked it, and would probably want to see it as your desktop background, here’s the surprise!! please enjoy!! and don’t forget to comment.

Gaia

Home Sweet Home

My Second Submision to “LaFraise“. Inspired by the famous “home sweet home” quote and represented from a different perspective… a snails perspective? maybe…? Anyway, I thought it would be a nice idea to play with, colors are pretty sweet and this little guy is kinda cool… In case you think it’s a nice design you would wear on a T-shirt (you, or your sister, or your girlfriend or your grandma or any member of your family), please feel free to vote for me by clicking here your support would be greatly appreciated!!!  ;-)

Gaia

Gaïa

My first submision on LaFraise (a T-Shirt website), on the “Gaïa” contest; the goal was to represent mother earth, nature, our beautiful planet, very interesting topics to create awareness on the environmental problems of today, or probably just as a homage to the unique (or is it?) wonderful planet we live in!… My design represents mother earth, I played a bit with  shapes (it’s “Gaïa” shaped if you look carefully) and adding some cute little details to make it look more natural-mother-earth-environmental-green- like. What do you think?

Let them Fly!

Diva

This is an illustration I’ve been working on for a while, I call it, Diva… The whole concept comes from the idea of a godess-genie like source of inspiration between the artist and the canvas, how from a certain point everything starts flowing untill it becomes a work of art or masterpiece… Hope you like it; it was achieved using different kind of brushes for the ink-like fluid effect and splatters… comments please?

IconHive

Knowing this is my first entry since a while (my most sincere apologies), for I have been kinda in the middle of different projects (thank God there’s a job, and no, that’s not a good excuse!), I wanted to post one of the most important and recent among them, a lot of hard work, planification and nights staying up late were invested in it (not mentioning all the time spent trying to make it work on IE!). This project is called IconHive!, our hive of icons, born from the idea of two young designers of making money offering the world high quality icons and graphic solutions, while doing what they love and cherish the most (design!, and why not if you think you have the talent!). If you pay a visit to this website, (which I hope you will) you’ll see we’re talking about highly detailed, functional icons for just a couple “pesos”. We’re still working on more sets to add on soon, but be free to let us know if you, your sister, your friend’s boss or the girl next door are looking for customized HiFi icons, we work on those too!

I hope to be adding new designs and free wallpapers pretty soon, so if you like my work, be sure to stop by eventually! I’m also hoping to be sharing some of my “graphical” secrets and talk about a couple friends who I think really kick ass at this design thing..!

I started this experimental Illustration by playing with some typography, water effects, a couple animals, and some elements that are a little out of place but I think I was able to make fit in a nice way.
Overall it was just really fun, the illustration is a little “absurd” and pretty surreal, though I liked the final result.
Hope you like it, please comment!!
